Life can feel overwhelming, and faith can seem complicated. At First Love Fellowship, our aim is to establish a deep connection with our 'family' of believers, and with Christ. After all, He first loved us. And for those of us embracing new life in Him, He is becoming our first love.
You can be part of this imperfect family!
We’re Jonathan and Brittany Taylor—parents of three amazing daughters and passionate followers of Jesus. We met at North Carolina A&T, and while we both grew up around church, our personal faith journeys took time, questions, and a few detours.
It wasn’t until we surrendered fully to Christ that we discovered our purpose: to share the transforming power of the gospel with people just like us. People searching for meaning. People who’ve been hurt. People who feel far from God but deep down want to believe that hope is real.
We believe Edgecombe County isn’t just a place to live—it’s where God has called us to plant something new. First Love Fellowship was born out of a burden to grow community where there’s loneliness and to raise up everyday disciple-makers who live with open hands and full hearts.
At First Love Fellowship, we want to bring the gospel to life—not just in what we say, but in how we live. We’re here to build a community rooted in love, truth, and service.
Our mission is simple but bold:
Bring the Gospel to life by sharing our hope and serving our neighbors.
We do that by cultivating:
These five values shape our church culture and guide our decisions:
Biblical Fidelity – We trust God’s Word as our authority.
Open-Table Fellowship – Everyone’s invited, no matter where they’re starting from.
Heart-to-Heart Discipleship – Life-change happens best in relationship.
Unconditional Service – We serve like Jesus—no strings attached.
Radical Generosity – We give because He gave first.
We’re just getting started in Tarboro, NC—but we’re dreaming big. We want to see a movement of everyday people discipling others, multiplying churches, and impacting neighborhoods. This isn’t about filling seats on Sunday; it’s about seeing lives transformed and communities renewed.
If you’re longing for a church family that keeps it real, follows Jesus closely, and genuinely loves people—there’s a place for you here.
Let’s build something together.
